12 Celsius at 1:30 pm.

Miserable, heavy rain early this morning and now we have windy, showery, heavily overcast, and cold (ish) weather.

I know it's not cold compared to the cooler parts of Europe or North America in the middle of winter, but we are going the whole of winter this year without using a heater of any description.

You are more than twice as likely to die from the cold in Sydney as you are in Stockholm, or so I read recently.

It's raining today. Shitty weather.

The horizon is just filled with dark clouds and there is a fairly constant rumbling of thunder.  A few peeks of sun, followed by darkness and rain.  Supposed to be like this for the next 12 hours according to local weather people.  We do need the rain.

And poor insulation? :-\

We usually have insulation in the roof, mostly to keep a house from turning into an oven.

Houses in Sydney are generally designed like tropical houses. Our whole downstairs, for example, is open. There are no rooms that can be kept closed, it's like 5 rooms separated by archways (no doors, except the front door and backdoor and dunny door).

We have mild winters that are quite bearable, this winter we are all just layering up and not using heaters at all. Except my son, who gets around in shorts and T-shirt. But some oldies are vulnerable to the cold and do suffer.

My sympathies. I'd thrive but most people I know would suffer.

Hot, 92F/33C, and sunny with a high probability of storms this afternoon, late.

13.0°C and partly cloudy at 10:25am. We're supposed to have showers but upon looking at the radar, I don't think we'll have any rain today.

Edit: It poured about 2 hours after I posted.
