I'm more concerned about QVs weather ATM

hHope your weathering the storm in your usual indomitable fashion,  your Majesty.  :fish2:

Yes, we made out fine.  Very little rain and not much wind.  Even ran an errand for a friend who just came out of the hospital looking for someplace to find her a meal.  On the way home The PR and I took a ride around for about 20 minutes.  I think the weather men really botched it this time.  Constant warnings, updates, etc.  I know they have to advise the population but it actually bordered on fear mongering.  It's going to be hard to take the next storm seriously.

Please do, though.

The concern for authorities, of course, is that it can be very difficult to accurately predict the exact severity of a storm.

Downside of overstating the severity of a storm: people take excessive precautions, some loss of productivity.

Downside of understating the severity of a storm: lots of people die. Authorities who did not prepare or warn adequately bear the brunt of the blame.

I'm very glad you got through the storm in one piece your majesty.

Today's weather seems rather bland so far.

17.5°C and sunny at 12:15pm. It'll be the last fine day for a while. Showers are forecast to next week.

19 C at lunch time. Feels significantly warmer. Sunny, very bright, no wind.

Can't ask for much nicer midwinter day than this.

School holidays so met the family for sushi in the city, which was excellent. Then we progressed to the Lindt chocolate cafe, the one famous for the botched rescue operation from the crazy wannabe terrorist. Peered through the window at the Channel 7 studio in Martin Place and watched them doing the Daily Edition, which is one of those news-style entertainment/magazine shows.

25C, with some sun. It's going to rain soon, though. The sky looks quite menacing.

28C

and the day is still morning....there is another EXCESSIVE HEAT WARNING. We are supposed to get a high of 95F (35C). Its very humid (77%) which just spreads the heat around like butter. In this type of weather, when the wind blows it feels like moist oven air.

At the moment its not so so bad, but later today it will get worse.
Can't you guys even just imagine it?

Forget practicality, or your experience....can you just....imagine?

It's there. It always was.

22 C for the next couple of days. Unless we get a late cold snap this is one of the mildest winters I can recall in Sydney.

Cool in the mornings and T shirt weather during the day.
