Vegetarianism always pisses me off
« on: July 11, 2012, 05:04:59 AM »
# Animals and plants are _not_ separate. They hail from the exact same chain of evolution as everything else. It's like saying "its okay to eat tigers, but NOT lions. Lions are separate! Lions have a life, emotions, feelings!"
Animals and plants are ONE: They are Eukaryotes.

# Vegetarians OFTEN eat fungi. Fungi are Opisthokonts. What is an Opisthokont, you ask? It's an organism that is either an animal or a fungus. Fungis are closely related to animals. But Vegetarians are often not very well educated in these matters, so its not really important to them. It's the health-cult that matters - not actual biology.

# Plants are much more complex than Vegetarians think. Vegetarians always automatically assume plants are the better choise, but always do so comparing to animals. So... why must plants suffer? Plants have bodies. Plants have organs (Skin is an organ. The nervous system is an organ. Body parts, etc,)
Plants have soft and hard tissues, they have body-fluids. Open up an orange, and tell me the inside is made purely for human consuption. What you are looking at on the gooey, watery inside of an orange is - the ripped open, grotesque inside of an innocent plant that never asked to be ripped open in the first place.

Thats the biggest delusion of all - the idea that plants are automatically food. I bet veggies imagine potatoes dropping from the sky. Potatoes arent the round little ball that belongs on your dinner table.
This is a potato:

A wild one at that.
Or should i say FREE?
The potato is a plant, with green leafs, who want nothing more than to sit in peace, drink the rain, bathe in the sun, and grow big and strong. it has NO ambitions of being decapitated, with half of its body discarded as garbage, and its water-organ (root) to be boiled and eaten by foreign creatures.

Vegetarians should shut the fucking motherfucking fuck up about their righteousness "you eat animals. you are cruel. i eat plants. i am glorious. 2+2=5"
it makes no logical sense.
it is the result of cult-thinking.

quit it.

Though I think the point is that plants don't feel pain, although we don't know that, of course.

exactly.
its just convenient.
besides, plants have reactions to their surroundings. they cannot see, hear, or smell - but still they are capable of reacting to:
touch (flycatchers, acacia tree), temperatures and light/darkness (dandelions closing the flower whenever it rains, or at night), even communication (again exemplified by the acacia)

it pisses me off just as much when people say that about animals, "they cannot feel pain" - which ive heard about fish, rabbits and even cows - the latter being advanced mammals, completely and fully capable of both pain and other abstract emotions.

we should man up.
yes, animals feel pain. yes we eat them
yes, plants are alive, and we eat them too.

Do the ones who aren't sanctimonious, and are simply choosing to eat the way they prefer to eat without putting that on others, still get you all het up?
it is well known that PMS Elle is evil.

You win this thread because that's most unsettling to even think about.

Those cowardly hippies! We pirates aren't veggies! :arrr:

All kinds of PC idiots would be quite amusing, didn't they have an impact on society. They should be in a circus or something instead, with the other clowns.

I want honesty and realism. If people are deluded, i get annoyed.
Im not an angry guy by default.

The best, most honest, and most acceptable reason for vegetarianism offered to me, was that meat looks gross.
I admit, I have sometimes been a bit grossed out myself, if i chewed something weird, or if i am offered brains or guts or something I'm not entirely used to.
Its a personal preference, like a sexual preference, or a taste in music or movies.

its not even that theyre pushing it, but most of them simply believe they are more correct, and it boils down to them being loving, caring and compassionate with nature - while i obviously am not, a barbaric ignorant grunt. its offensive.
i love nature. i understand and respect nature. i have killed a fish with my bare hands, and i fucking ate it only seconds after it was alive in the river.
its no different - at all - from pulling a carrot up from the ground, chopping it in half, and boiling it, yet one side claims the other to be barbaric and ignorant about it - even if they keep it to themselves i am offended :M

personal taste is different. i wont eat snails. cus im afraid theyll pop in my mouth, and spray goo all over my palate :zombiefuck:

PC clowns are the real fascists, since they claim a moral superiority that they don't have and want everyone else to conform without questioning.

Yes. but fascists are real fascists too, because they also do lots of forcing people to do stuff, including genocides and stuff.
*wag finger!*

I think you'll like Pasolini's wisdom, norrbagge. He says that consumerism is the real fascism. And he also made similar statements about false tolerance, false democracy etc:

I am not bothered if people want to eat vegetables.

Vegetables taste good.  Better with a bloody fillet steak :viking:

The only condescending thing i find is that a percentage of vegetarians believe that
we would still have fields full of sheep and cows etc if we didn't eat them.  We wouldn't.
Farmer Giles would fill his fields with oats.

Yes,  :hyke: would be safe because of milk.  I really think a few animals would become
extinct quite quickly if they weren't farmed.

Pigs are an exception.  Pigs are clever.  We still have wild boar :viking:  But a lot of farm yard animals are too docile to exist without help.

People do piss me off when they just go to supermarkets and buy packaged cuts of meat and have no thought or knowledge of how it got there :finger:

Hunting is cool.
blah blah blah

Hm, that's one of the reasons that I sometimes consider being a vegetarian after all. Although in favour of free guns I don't like hunting and I'm really disgusted by the meat industry.

But that is a real moral principle: I hesitate to eat food that was made in a way that I could barely stomach to do myself. I could maybe hunt. Maybe. But I'd be sick working in a slaughter house.

lit, i am fully aware of the curse of consumerism, as i have been doom-saying a lot about it myself. im just saying - one evil doesnt eliminate another ;]

i kept thinking about that when good-ol breivik was justifying himself, and i was thinking - assuming he is correct - then what?
then we're stuck with just another system, another "we are the only correct ones!" alternative, and another fringe would erupt and feel alienated, and end up shooting people to pieces.

lesson: humans are indeed one, around the world, and we're all completely flawed compared to the perfection we think we are.
we are perpetually doomed to fuck ourselves over - this has even been proven by psychological experiments, that clearly show that humans are helpless when it comes to the "gathering" instinct for example. we will gather despite being promised better rewards by not gathering.
we can look at one reward awaiting us, but still choose doom, even when fully concious of the concequences - as perfectly exemplified irl by for example environmentalism
AND
consumerism: the fact that we are STILL, RIGHT NOW, DURING the economic crisis allowing for advertisement on tv, huge private companies ruling national economies etc.
we can see what is killing us, and we are still not moving away.

/rant

im hoping china comes and occupy us all. and of course, that they do this without concentration camps and all of that nasty stuff :I

btw, my brother worked for a while in a slaughter house, and almost lost his apetite for meat altogether :D but he went unprepared. he, like many, had never confronted the idea that meat comes from living animals.

When i say hunting, i don't mean fox hunting.  I just refer to a person who hunts and kills an animal for the main purpose of eating it.

Not sure how i feel about hunting with dogs.

i think bringing your own dog to help out with the hunt is a natural and harmonic thing to do, and must be extatic for the dog to actually do what it was made to do.

fox hunting doesnt count. its a snobby sadistic sport, where the chase itself is in focus.

my friend stein hunts. he is very code-bound, and i respect that. he approaches the deer, without being seen. how often do you approach huge, wild animals, without being spotted? :D
i find that amazing in itself.
then he fires _one_ shot. deers are powerful animals. they can take a shot, and laugh, so he has to hit the deer right in the torso, puncturing the lungs right through.
Then, when he has one deer, that = a freezer filled up with meat, so naturally, he has no further business interfering with wilderness, and returns home with his loot.

This must be the reason that all people aren't anarchists, despite self-ruling being the only thing morally justifiable and most awarding at the same time. 99.99% believe in or pretend to believe in the lie that the "state" is something morally legitimate. A system where you force people who haven't done anything wrong per se can never be a moral one.
