need to quit eating junk food and drinking pop

any advice on how to do it? its a rather heavy addiction.... >.>

if theres bees in the trap im catching them, by the thorax and abdomen. and sanding there stingers down to a rough quill. then i dip em in ink and i scribble a bit, and if the wriggle than i tickle them until they hold still, let me say it again, in my land of pretend, i use bees as a mother fucking pen!

  but I know not everyone likes water.  I eat bags of Pink Lady Apples as TV snacks.  I think
  the most important thing is to take your time and find some new foods that you enjoy.  I've
  been on diets in which I  dreaded  my meals.  That's no good and is not sustainable.  :apondering:

Pick one thing at a time.  Water with a squeeze of lemon is passable.  In the winter time I will sometimes just drink plain hot water rather than coffee or tea.  Seems to keep me warmer.

Remove yourself (if possible) from the places and habits that trigger the junk food habit. 

Want something salty?  crunchy?  Eat a dill pickle.

Brush your teeth when you want something sweet.

Substitute.  Try cinnamon toast instead of a candy bar or pastry.  Popcorn instead of chips.

Don't keep the junk food in the house.

Try to figure out why you want the junk food.  Nervous?  Take a walk or a soothing bath.  Bored?  Find something interesting.

Disclaimer:  None of these things worked for me.

Maybe try making a simple Italian dish once. Like a pasta with fresh ingredients. Isn't really difficult. If wished I could go through the process here.. but there are a lot of recipes online to be found too.

Lots of good suggestions. Definitely start adding more interesting things to your diet. If you're making yourself really good solid meals, then you don't feel such a strong pull for sugar. I don't deny myself anything. I feel it sets one up for failure if you do, but things in moderation are key. My vice is 1 can of coke a day. I like my coke, it's my caffeine/sugar boost for the day so I don't feel guilty about having it. That's balanced out with the fact that I drink a lot of water.

Try new things. new fruits, veggies and dip, pita bread with salsa (Salsa does have a lot of sugar, but it's loaded with other good things too).

An additional thought.  Eating flavourful foods might satisfy your taste buds.  For example, rather than Swiss or American cheese, use Cheddar, Pepper Jack or a smokey cheese.  Flavoured rices, spiced up spaghetti, etc.  Flavoured coffees, teas or water rather than the soft drink.
