Go and see my friend who is in a posh psych hospital. I don't think it's any better than the public psych ward that I was in 5 years ago. Maybe it's the food.

Hospital food of any sort sucks arse ren. Never been in a psych ward, but hospital food is repulsive swill. Last time I was in hospital (bar the recent occasion when I passed out and hit my head) the food was so horrendous I just couldn't eat any of it, with the sole exception of bowls of custard, and dry cereal. The rest was just one long inedible sensory nightmare, and I went hungry, bar a meal every few days. Well I say a meal, a bowl of watery custard or rice pudding.

Last time I was in hospital, I must have gained a fair bit of weight because the food was good (apart from steamed Brussels sprouts - just can't make myself eat those) and being on quetiapine and lithium turned my stomach into a bottomless pit so I ate so much. I'm hungry again and I had dinner tonight.

Sprouts? I suppose that is one way of enforcing a 'nil by mouth' order on patients...

They actually expect patients to eat that sort of shite though? seriously that isn't right. You'd have to be on SOMETHING to get those down your throat. Why people serve them at xmas is beyond me, because near enough nobody on the face of this planet actually wants to eat them, and quite a lot of the population would vomit them right back up again if they tried.

A little bit of cinnamon is fine with me. A little bit that is. It can be overdone.

I wish I liked nuts. It's one of those foods that look very satisfying and there's lots of different sorts. Yet they make me gag. Oh well.

Tomorrow I'm washing clothes and towels. It's going to be the last fine day for over a week so I had better get everything dry by tomorrow night.
