Thanks.  I do have some purple cloth I could use to make it when I finish the cheetah costume, but I would need something to make the gold stars on the hat and robe.  I cut out the cheetah costume while watching TV last night, so it should be pretty quick work to sew it together.

There is one Christmas Carol that has always baffled me. What in the world do leaping lords, French hens, swimming swans, and especially the partridge who won't come out of the pear tree have to do with Christmas?
This week, I found out.
From 1558 until 1829, Roman Catholics in England were not permitted to practice their faith openly. Someone during that era wrote this carol as a catechism song for young Catholics. It has two levels of meaning: the surface meaning plus a hidden meaning known only to members of their church. Each element in the carol has a code word for a religious reality which the children could remember.
-The partridge in a pear tree was Jesus Christ.
-Two turtle doves were the Old and New Testaments.
-Three French hens stood for faith, hope and love.-
-The four calling birds were the four gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke & John.
-The five golden rings recalled the Torah or Law, the first five books of the Old Testament.
-The six geese a-laying stood for the six days of creation.
-Seven swans a-swimming represented the sevenfold gifts of the Holy Spirit--Prophesy, Serving, Teaching, Exhortation, Contribution, Leadership, and Mercy.
-The eight maids a-milking were the eight beatitudes.
-Nine ladies dancing were the nine fruits of the Holy Spirit--Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness, and Self Control.
-The ten lords a-leaping were the ten commandments.
-The eleven pipers piping stood for the eleven faithful disciples.
-The twelve drummers drumming symbolized the twelve points of belief in the Apostles' Creed.
So there is your history for today.

Sounds like too much pattern seeking in there. If I had enough time and effort, I'd find ways to link that carol song to Islam.

Can't tell it is you though, you will have to post more pics. :)

What did people get? I got an eBook reader. It is coloured and plays videos too. I have to charge it for 16 hours with my computer before I use it though. I also got a lot of towels for my new place (should I ever get one) and a few vouchers to spend. :)

My daughter got me three new hairbrushes like hers, but in a different color from hers.

My husband got me a Food Saver, which seals food into airtight bags and lets you store food longer and keep it fresh.

A heat/massage thing to put on my recliner, a digital scale that goes down to .1 grams and does troy ounces, and a bunch of other little things

I got the urchin a kiddies camera for christmas.  It is really cool,  it has a big viewing screen and you can also flip the lens the other way - to take pics of self.

I took the memory card out of it and plugged it into my laptop,  just to have a look at what he had taken pics of.  Oh god i haven't stopped laughing
