Presents come christmas time do my head in as well and i echo the bah humbug sentiment.
Still there is time off work which is a plus and time with the kids which is a plus. if i can fast forward past the stupid bloody presents i may even allow myself to enjoy it.

So what is everyoine after or what awesome presents has everyone bought?

Both my husband's niece and nephew are expecting babies soon, so I made each of them a baby sleeping bag from the softest fleece I have ever felt, pink for the girl and blue for the boy.

Thanks.  My daughter wants new dress-up clothes and a new trampoline for Christmas, so I need to start making some dress-up clothes for her soon.

The Princess Royal wants an American Girl doll.  That ain't happening.  It's pure envy because a friend of hers has some.  I just may give her $ or a Disney gift card.

I think $ is the best gift possible, the older I get the more I love it!  :2thumbsup:

My daughter has one, Kirsten Larsen, that her aunt gave her along with the books and accessories.

I just searched for American Girl doll cheap and found this Kirsten Larsen on eBay for less than another hour with the bid less than $85.  It says she was used as a display model and she looks like new.

I want some Wii points for Christmas and Mario kart 7.

Here is a song I like. It reminds me of Jingle All the Way.

That's one reason she's not getting one.  Another reason is that they're more of a collectible doll, which she will trash.  Third reason is that it's not whay we feel appropriate for our maturity goals for her.

You mean because it's not age-appropriate for her and other 20 year olds don't play with dolls so it would look funny if she did?

I haven't really worried about that so far.  My daughter has a doll that I bought at Hobby Lobby and stuffed, then made clothes for that she plays with a lot.  I originally dressed it to be the Native American friend of Kirsten Larsen, Singing Bird, then my daughter asked for new clothes for her and I made some following the Kirsten Larsen dress patterns that I found online.  Most recently, I made a dress for the doll that looks a lot like one of her denim dresses that I also made for her and she says that the doll is her daughter.

I think people might think she's younger than 15 since she still carries her doll around.  Four flight attendants did ask us her age since we were seated in an exit row and the regulations state that only people 15 or older can sit there and they also have to say yes when they are asked whether they are willing to help the flight attendants in an emergency.  We went over the safety card with her and also told her that if there were an emergency that she should let one of us open the emergency exit door.  I think it weighs 45 pounds and has to be lifted out of the way.

I think if I were into dolls (which I never was) it would have taken me until my late teens to grow out of playing with them. I still liked Ninja Turtles a lot when I was 15, I remember. But I got made fun of for it and realised that if I liked kids stuff I should keep it to myself.

from callaway:  "You mean because it's not age-appropriate for her and other 20 year olds don't play with dolls so it would look funny if she did?"

Yes.  She was never into dolls as a child, prefering to do pretty much nothing except watch TV and disney movies.  The thing with the doll is mostly that her friend's dad gives the friend an AGD every Christmas.  But the friend doesn't play with them or show any interest in them.  With the PR, her wanting one is mostly a monkey-see-monkey-do thing.  There are a whole lotter of better ways to spend $50+.

 :agreed:

I looked around online to see whether I could find one cheaper, but I couldn't find any for less than that by the end of the eBay auctions.

Here is an unusual Happy Christmas from Her Majesty's Royal Navy, the HMS Ocean.  They were sent on a 7 week tour and will return after 7 1/2 months after attending to some difficulties in the Mediterranean.  (my, my, I do have some handsome sailors.  :-*  )
