Hey, I looked around first to make sure that intro threads were allowed and it seemed so... if that is wrong just take me out back and beat me now. ~_^
Anywho, got referred here by a friend who's a member... I can't remember his screen name on here at the moment so you'll just have to take my word for it. We got into a conversation about Asperger's Syndrome... and he said this is a community for them, us, we, they, I, you, me... whatever. So probably the best way to start is a short explanation, eh?
I went to a doctor once for something completely unrelated and after a few days of chatting followed by a battery of written tests he says to me, "Dude, there's a high probability you've got a mild case of Asperger's syndrome."
Confused, I ask him, "Isn't that the disease Syd Barrett had?"
"Yeah. It's a form of Autism," he explains, "but I want to do more tests."
At that point I stopped caring. "No... that's ok. There's nothing I can do about it so it doesn't really matter, does it? I'll just use it as a crutch."
"Don't you want to know, though?"
"Not really..."
And that's where we are with that. My buddy seems convinced that I have it, so I guess that's good enough for me.
So, to make a short story long... the point of the thread is to say hi. HI!
