I've never had any luck growing Datura indoors in pots Lutra.

I need to find the seeds I have, and plant some Datura myself. I have some belladonna seed too, after finding a wild plant growing by a canal towpath while I was out hunting for ergot fungus sclerotia for some.....experiments....in culturing it, in the hopes of isolating a highly productive strain for producing ergopeptides.

Sodding hard to get belladonna growing though, apparently it contains some sort of germination inhibitor.

What did I do today....

Visited my uncle, then went first trekking round all the local pharmacies, rounding up a bunch of OTC codeine and morphine-based cough mixtures,  drank a few bottles of those, then went mushroom hunting in the woods.

Had a look around Montréal. Spent time talking to various colleagues from all over the world.
You were in Montreal??? You're about 10 hours away from me. I know it's not all that close, but it's definitely closer than you usually are!  8)

Drove just over three hours North to Vermont  then worked five hours
Drove another 25 miles North to Home Depot to get more materials
Checked in at the motel

@ Lestat: Mine is outside now but ja, letting the Datura survive indoors (in late Autumn/Winter/early Spring) is tricky. Failed quite a few times myself. Think, when I trim the Datura back for Winter, I'm going to make some cutting (clones) as well this year.

~

Plus.. I've done some gardening today. Trimmed the Blackberry and the Japanese Wineberry shrub back to manageable sizes. Got rid off a few branches of the tree in front of the house via some saw-work and cleared the garage roof of wild weeds there. Cleaned all of the roof gutters as well.

Too much internet, got some groceries, made dinner, etc., etc..

I was there for a week for a conference. It was fun.

What species is it Lutra? the seeds I have are D.Inoxia I think, although they may possibly be D.tatula. Also I have some belladonna seed, but I have not so far managed to coax them into sprouting.

Japanese wineberry....nice. Those grow thickly on the retail park that I go to the pharmacy there to buy my codeine cough mixture/morphine solution cough mixture from. Pretty tasty.

Had to drop some paperwork off at my store
Ran some errands
Paid my bills
Hung out with my son and had a blast
Took the dog for a walk/son for a bike ride
Made 2 hugely important phone calls
Got an email with very good news

All in all, awesome day  8)

Had a consultation with a clinic that offers laser eye surgery. Worked some. Fed the family.

@ Lestat: Um, my bad.. it's a Brugmansia. Sorry. Keep mixing up those two names. This (also/mostly) thanks to my old boss whilst I worked in a big greenhouse. The crosseyed fart thought it was funny to fool people.. by e.g. giving wrong names of plants when I asked about them. Might be he's a retarded idiot. Bit of both, I reckon.. this (cath.) region is full of them. (but anyway.. )

Um, read some/most of your posts here and I do hope you are a bit careful, chap.. with them drugs, I mean. This, also linking it with your belladonna seeds now. Well, preaching about would be hypocritical of me.. but please be a bit careful.

I, for myself, 'use' this metaphor of the elastic rubber band.. One can wish to pull it up real high (when stretched horizontally between two fixed points/neutral the band's horizontally/=0) but it's bound to go as deep down when the tension is released. On a -10 <feel> +10 scale.. aiming for +10, trying to go there via drugs, one is more likely to hit -10 in life as well. In my perception.. moderation is key here. I just don't aim/wish for +10.. little 'pluses' (+1, 2 or 3) are perfectly fine for me.

Minus 10, been there I tell ya, I haven't experienced for.. um, at least 4 years now (since my (HF) auti-awakening basically).. but I'm blahiahing again/sørry.

Plus ja, ripe Jap. wineberries are delicious. Love them. Blackberries too. They're kind of like little vita. C bombs.

Went for a walk with the youngest, ended up at friends, had tea there, then got invited for dinner. So, picked up oldest, and, had a very pleasant evening.
