Bought some boots. Did laundry and made dinner. Waiting for it to come out of the oven.

^Did you get a prize?

I have not done much today. Had toast for breakfast and took my meds.

Woke up at 3pm, staggered to the bathroom, grabbed a quick bite to eat and glass of water.  Thought about doing something constructive, then went back to sleep.
Woke again at 5.00pm . Thought about doing something constructive.
Made a cup of coffee. Peeked in here.
Still feeling tired, dammit.  But that's close on 12 hours sleeping thus far

Yep, you win money for 1st, 2nd and 3rd so I put in a kitty and it will fund our next 3-4 weeks of quizzes :)
First time my group won actually. I set up a local group for people who are introverted or a little outside the box or who struggle socialising. Certainly proving to be interesting, and sometimes challenging as I cannot simply decide I want to stay in and not get out in the world if I have put on an event, lol.

I woke at about 5pm too, and I always feel bad about my totally out of synch lifestyle. Most people are getting up and starting their days when I am only just going to bed.

i was trying to sneak back  into synchby going to bed earlier.  it never works, lately.  i just sleep longer :(

OK, I've now made myself a proper meal,  based on yesterdays leftovers (adding various extra veggies) , and eaten it.
It consisted in:
microwave baked sweet potato, with fresh lime drizzled over it
rice combined with yesterday's mushroom dish (mushrooms, smoked garlic , red onion, red and green peppers all sauteed in water, with chopped fresh rosemary, lemon juice, sweet basil,  and fresh spinach added)  plus finely chopped carrots,  tiny cauliflower florets, a bit of tomato puree and some oregano.

That's really complex for me, these days I hardly ever have enough energy for all that scubbing, rinsing chopping etc.  But I did spead the preparation and cooking over two days.

Nope, I did not have dessert  .Just a glass of orange juice (from a carton) .

(Sadly I can't eat any pre-prepared meals, cos of all my food intolerances. so i have to make an effort occasionally)

I am a creature of total habit. I pretty much eat exactly the same meal every single evening, and have done for many months now, other than when I am at my mum's when we eat out, or at the pub quiz when I have steak. My usual food is ready poached salmon fillet, root vegetable mash (very occasionally brown rice), steamed vegetables, raw baby plum tomatoes and raw mushrooms. I used to have sweet potatoes a lot, but have gone off them a bit recently.

Are you a vegetarian ? I see little protein in that meal.

yep. i've  been lacto-vegetarian for 30 years
i'm now fully vegan, since developing dairy intolerance, about 8 years ago.
i miss my cheese! but i feel less guilty :)  (having visited a dairy farm once, i've been thinking that  it's actually kinder to kill the cows and eat them than to make them live like that )
the protein is in the rice and mushrooms.

That sounds delicious. WolFish made us veal stew tonight with onions, carrots, celery and potato, because Pyraxis the idiot got confused between veal and venison and thought she was buying deer meat. I like trying exotic meats. I only found out afterwards that I was likely contributing to suffering. The stew was delicious though, with herbs and chili pepper for flavour, and gluten free crackers to soak up the juice.

Ah right. Yes, I have read of the dairy industry though not sure if all dairy farms are bad, both Uk and USA ? I was vegetarian for 10 years, then pescetarian for 10 years, but when I did weight training, I started craving meat again. I want to stop it again, to be honest, and when I have a decent sized kitchen, that will be somewhat easier as it will allow me to cook. I know rice and mushrooms have protein, but not that much. There is some debate as to how much protein we need... I have read in several places that the daily recommendations are actually very low, but then I spent several years on a fitness and diet forum where people were regularly encouraged to get 1g of protein per pound of lean mass, especially when exercising or trying to lose weight, to spare muscle. I have come to believe though, that animal protein may well be unhealthy for the body.

I'll let you off   :green:
I have bought veal too, back when I was trying to be "normal" (and also teaching myself to cook)  I also made myself buy kidneys, although cutting 'em up always made me feel really queasy, and gave me these sympathetic pains in the region where i vaguely imagined my kidneys to be   . In the end, i concluded that i really wasn't cut out to be a hard case.

Coincidentally, a veal-calf carrying aircraft came within a hair's breadth of crashing into my home, years later .  They are watching me!  :hide:

You were nearly hit by an airplane full of calves?!

That would be a very weird way to die.

I've tried kidney. Can't stand it. It tastes like crumbly dirt.
