No, although I could certainly give that a go, easy enough to make some bioavailable Mg salts (currently I only have the sulfate on hand, which has a very poor availability, but from that I could make other salts easily enough and cheaply enough to try)
Currently I use tizanidine, a relative of clonidine and guanfacine, blood pressure drugs (although they have other uses, I am on the former of the two also, by coincidence), its a muscle relaxer, and a strong one at that. While I was first getting used to it it knocked me unconscious every time, although now I have got used to the stuff I can take a fairly high dose, enough to suppress the cramping pretty well.
Stops me getting overloaded too, which is a bonus, as does clonidine, taking the two together almost certainly gets me more bang for buck in that respect, and I've found I can use it as a pretty certain sleep aid, even when conventional types of sleeping pill, like the chlormethiazole I am scripted, or benzos from the local head shop have been tried and found not to perform that night. The muscle relaxer will put me out like a light within a very short time if I take enough of it. Probably one of the most versatile meds I've ever been put on.
