If Im honest I think you're attracted to them on one level - an aesthetic level.
I think once you find a guy who can keep up with you intellectually you'll forget all about your current type. 

But I know what you mean , I've found utter idiots hawt , as well as some assholes , I'm destined to become a tragic mess it seems. 

 That's funny and sad and endearing all at the same time, but not necessarily true. 

It wasn't serious , just saying the type of guys I get attracted to aren't good news necessarily.

Dad just asked me what I want for my birthday which is soon. So I'm thinking about that as I really have no idea. I have pretty much all I need in my new house atm

A parasol, so you can sit outside? Or doesn't your house give you that option?

A large shade umbrella for my courtyard would be nice, but it might make the courtyard look a bit cluttered (it's only 6m x 3m). Something for the garden perhaps. I haven't even touched it yet

There are other ways than umbrellas to give shade too. Might be worth looking at.

I don't get it. He's been online on the site for hours and he won't take 1/2 hr of it to reply to my email? Is he maybe talking to another girl he might have met?

 Don't waste another minute on him, onward and upward! 

Maybe he's mad at me for not meeting him

 If that's the case, let him sulk.  You have more important things to do than wait for him. 

I dunno, he said he was really looking forward to it.....which was news to me seeing as I felt we've barely connected properly. Just occasional penpals, that's all it's felt like we've been sometimes.

There's no trick at all. If the chemistry is right and you are equally important to each other, it will happen naturally. the best (and usually healthiest) relationships are the ones where you don't force things to happen or fall into place. They just do on their own. If one person starts doing all the work or is starting to feel like things aren't being reciprocated then it's time for a sit down and if that still doesn't fix things, you move on.

Hmm, guys don't seem to be exempt from the "post-breakup haircut" phenomena either. As is the case with Geoff's short hair. He says he's had it short for ages. I wonder if he cut it off after a little break-up with a certain american birdy
