They're saying that the immunocompromised may have to stay under quarantine until a vaccine is approved and widely circulated. So I've got 75 days down and about 18 or more months to go???  :zombiefuck:

A choice between going back to work in a big open plan air conditioned office building and risking my health and even more Mel's, or not being paid, is possibly on the cards soon since the govt hasn't seen fit to include any but the most vulnerable in recommending further shielding. So fuck the millions of us living with chronic conditions now, we can just be collateral damage. If I get it in the office it could land both of us in hospital or worse.  :poo:

it's such a difficult place to be in. I'm the immunocompromised one. HB is diabetic but seems to have an immune system of steel. He's already back to work but we have a decontamination routine that he goes through after every shift.

That's a shit situation. Hard to know what to do for the best, hope you both stay safe. :grrr:

I have just been informed that luckily for me I will not be expected to return to work for the foreseeable and that my sick pay entitlement will be backdated to March, since I was told to stay off for shielding - at least my organisation accepts more of a duty of care to its people than the government seem to have. So I might be stuck inside mostly avoiding people but at least I will continue to be paid and I can relax a bit knowing I won't have to put us at risk.

Isn't having a sick pay a whole lot less than being made furlough? I've been made furlough for the past month only to eventually or possibly go back to work while all this madness is happening? I have someone in my household that is listed as extremely clinically vulnerable. Not good at all.

SSP is, yeah. Company sick pay is full pay at our place while it lasts, and we've been told that if we've been asked to stay off we'll be paid regardless. I'm only part time these days due to my health and care responsibilities so that is a very good thing for me, we'd really struggle without.

Hopefully your employers will extend your furlough considering your household situation. :crossed:

Learned a cool hack about how to peel a mango which worked like a charm and the mango was perfectly ripe and tasted amazing  :thumbup:
