Why do I always stay up too late when I know I have something I have to be up for? I now have to go through the day in a haze.

Yes, I do. Wallander had nice music. British crime series often have too. (Though midsummer murders always makes me think of British gardening programs and aspie unfriendly community fairs...)

Sometimes commercials have awesome music too. And I have to go and look for it, to find what it is.

Yep, Wallander had good music, and I love the end music for Broadchurch, both series...also Silent Witness, Holby City and Casualty... for me, with the latter two, it is the familiarity, reminder of past times.

Probably, but also I am stuck in a routine. I tend to just get stuck in a rut. I will try for a few days to get to bed earlier... I think maybe I just think there is nothing to bother getting up for. I also have OCD which tends to really steal time from me, making my bedtime even later. I then get really angry at myself for failing again to change the pattern.
