I want to entice a hundred or more.

I'm trying to imagine how much space that would take, with the way squirrels social distance from each other.  :lol1:

That is a part of the fun!
Watching four squirrels fight over one nut when there are hundreds in the feeder is almost Pay TV worthy.
 :lol1:

There are many dozens living in our area, too many to count.

I doubt I know how many are around here, but the area that gets seeds scattered is only big enough for a dozen or so to hang out peacefully. Every now and then a couple will fight over the prime spot underneath the feeders, but for the most part they seem fairly calm hanging out with their little 4-6 foot personal bubbles between them. They may not get as aggressive here because there's no winter.  :dunno:

No winter?  Good point.

Our winters are mostly mild, but winter can still kill you if you are not able to stay protected during the worst of it.
Never found a frozen squirrel, but dead bunnies are common after a hard freeze.

Once the ground is frozen, the ones who bury nuts can not get to them. I find feeding is just a way to help a bit. That's just me, though. Most folks think I am crazy for catering to the squirrel population. I just smile, wave and thank them.

It has been warm this week, mostly around freezing, but the ground was frozen pretty deep down from temps well below zero Fahrenheit for two days back in November.
I found some forgotten bulbs that should have been planted in October. I dug down about three inches and hit hard frozen ground. I just put them there and piled up six inches of soil on top of them. They may not thrive.

But scattering corn cobs and raw peanuts around the yard, the squirrels continue to play.

Lots of people recycling today. Took me thirty minutes to dispose of everything.

Working my job, wearing a rainbow mask and a "customer" walks by me and says, "take off the fucking mask".....seriously he did.  And keeps on walking, I say, "eat my shorts".  But he didn't hear me.  Not that I care.   ::)

I'm guessing it certainly could have.

Curious to look at but no one can afford to be distracted in the least when they are attempting to safely conduct a three to five thousand pound automated projectile anywhere that people might be near.

Why is Willis Island even on the maps? Seriously. Just because it's a weather station?

It is going to be the first time in a while since I went to Elgin. The last time I was there, I was picking up the painting supplies that I left behind.
