odeon, I've had my Huawei Nova 3i since 2018 and it's still fine and takes good photos (some are in the cat thread). I haven't dropped it so the screen is still fine too.

The phone company I'm with has sent me a couple of emails saying I'm due for an upgrade but all their suggestions are either Samsung or Apple. I don't want either so I don't know what to get.

You can tell most fake reviews, including the ones where they supposedly test each product against another, like those top 10 lists. Even the lists mentioned in national newspapers are rubbish and are not to be trusted.

Some of these lists even list dangerous items that Amazon sells that have been known to explode (Cheap, unregulated items from China).

Really annoys me, actually. The internet is full of sludge now and hardly any information, and they let idiots or chosen content show to people. I don’t know of any decent search engines either. Google is fucking rubbish. Retarded and rubbish. It’s a pet hate of mine.

Where are people going to get information from now? The internet doesn’t provide that anymore, not significantly like it used to years ago.

I want a new internet created where all those big companies go and die and the common person can access information and each other like they used to. All that sludge and absolute crap can fuck off and die.

Off topic, but interesting post I saw on WP from an economist about what newspapers show regarding government debt: https://wrongplanet.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=409307

…And I want a new television with channels that show opinions and expertise from all walks of life * and minimally censors them.

*Except the obvious like Nazis etc, but the heads of these channels would be able to tell the difference between that and false arguments the media purposely sets up to make groups war unnecessarily against each other.

Can you get pirate TV channels, or can one or a few be set up? Maybe pirate radio stations could be set up, at least. Use a new form of media on a particular frequency?

As a matter of fact, I don't think I fully understand them.
I do like reading about them, though.

Another note, about my new drivers. They needed a great deal of break in time. I was somewhat disappointed in their performance at first. SO much high praise and to me they sounded weak and puny.
Fs was no where near the advertised specification. In fact, they measured over 150hz at first. Should be around 50Hz!

I set them about a half inch apart with solid spacing, clamped the baffles together facing each other, out of phase with each other, wrapped them in many layers of bubble wrap, covered the whole thing in shipping blankets, big box on top with bricks to keep the sound down from outside and I have had them playing bass heavy content for over a week straight.

Out of phase, so that as one receeds the other pushes it farther, and vice versa. Getting them loosened up and closer to advertised specification. Old Pro trick for faster break in.

Just freed them from bondage this morning and YEAH! They are really sounding better now. I plan to just give them a listen for a while before I do anything else or test them again.
Lii F15 drivers. Great value!
If you look them up, notice the Mms figure. It's incredible!

So much road work around here,  detours everywhere its making me crazy
All that!

My favorite route has finally finished, I thought. The sewer access points did not pass inspection, so they tore up sections AGAIN and they are resetting the levels of the drain manholes to remove big bumps.

The road is now open, but getting through is like running a slalom course!

It never ends!

The mice in the shed have gotten a lot worse since my daughter took our only outdoor cat with her when she moved :zombiefuck:

Our last cat at the house is afraid of outside :-\

Which makes me wish Yoshi had the same mindset... only he's got a bit of feral in his tendencies.

A cat I haven't seen before is hanging around in the yard I hope it sticks around and takes care of the mouse problem in the shed

Does the shelter in your area have working cats available for adoption? Usually those need a warm place, and food... but they're feral and kept outside.

We have a local stray that's built like a bulldog adopt us. He's killed quite a few mice and even a rat. He stays outside and we set him up a place to sleep and we give him some food and water. Ever since the condition of his coat has improved by leaps and bounds. The kids named him Pretzel. He even lets us pat him and everything now.
