Samsung's support department has oddly been about as good as they get for me. Never a problem, in spite of some decidedly not clear-cut issues.

Watched a documentary series on netflix about adults on the spectrum dating. What annoyed me is the typical infantilised depiction of the people themselves, in a "oh, look at how kooky and cute are they for doing normal people things!" kind of way rather than showing their individuality or personalities in any real way. Even the music was typical tinkly, ukulele baby music. ::)

I get that some autistic people need more help than others, and I'm sure it's not the intention of the people who made it, but it just comes off as being rather patronising as a whole regardless.

Ugh. Even for people with shitty social skills and intellectual developmental delays, that's dehumanizing. Adults are adults with adult desires no matter how uncomfortable it makes NT's.

 :agreed:

This is why I don't like disclosing that I am on the the spectrum, the reaction is rarely positive from my own experience. For example, I had the same attitude towards me at work then I had to disclose it (shit hit the fan a couple of years ago, and they forced my hand basically), ranging from people over-explaining things to me to "jokes" on my apparent stupidity.

People just have no idea what the reality is of being on the spectrum. I've thought about bringing it up at work but I always end up deciding against it for reasons like that.

At work I got the comment, "But everyone is a little bit autistic."

I responded "Yeah? Try having the whole lot!"

I've had people say that to me as a reason for questioning my reasonable adjustments.

Just stop.  :facepalm2:

Lots of Trump supporters out waving flags on the side of the roads today must have been some sort of organized thing because I saw several groups in different towns all doing the same thing

I think any time I plan quiet time for myself, it throws up the bat signal to let my children know that it must immediately ask a lot of questions.  :apondering:

I'm like what do I need to do to prevent this from happening? Is there some kind of trick? Do you have to throw them off your scent? Throw salt over your shoulder? Make some of offering to the do not disturb gods? If you figure it out, let me know.

I'm beginning to think that the moment my arse touches a chair a text alert goes out to everyone in my family.
Ever got that feeling that you're trying to teach a dog a card trick?

People talk way too loud on their phones.  Today while walking the dogs I could hear a woman talking but couldnt figure where she was then I spotted her  about 100 yard away across a field and a pond talking on her phone
