My German is rusty as hell but I seem to have a reasonable grasp of the vocabulary since I actually understand what the Germans are saying.

My brother can read German to an extent after singing many German songs in his college choir.  :viking:

I've only used German a few times since high school. Until now.

I was amazed at how quickly I picked it up again. Though, I will mess up with the grammatical case all the time.

I'm better at German than English. Of course, English is illogical and has a ridiculous pronunciation  :M

At Chaucer's time English still sounded decent, like the other Germanic languages  :M

Chaucer, The Miller's Tale, read aloud in Middle English.

Don't blame English for your failure to master it.  You have plenty of free time for study.  :P

I love the English language. German sounds formal and harsh while English is what you make it to be.

I should probably spend some time refreshing my German. It's pretty useful for me these days.
