Who likes that Lo-Fi sound?
« on: October 22, 2010, 08:07:10 AM »
I do, a lot. I use an old Winamp plug-in called iZotope Vinyl, which I think replicates the sound of vinyl records quite well. I like to play "Stairway to Heaven" by Led Zeppelin or "Warning" by Black Sabbath with most of the vinyl effects turned up high. Especially the warping on the acoustic guitar sections, makes the song sound rather ominous.

So, who else is a fan of the low fidelity sound? :orly:

Depends on whats being played.

For example: I find Sonic Youth sounds soooooo much better on a POS stereo compared to state of the art equipment.

I am more the fan of dead and old style media.  I have it all from 8 tracks to 78's and even Edison Diamond discs which where 80 rmp not 78.  I buy and sell the stuff all the time it is a specialty market though and not always profitable.  I like it though thinking of how this stuff was hi tech at one time.  And I love tubes even the smell of them when they are on is refreshing
