His name was Bernie Felter. He used to jokingly add the upski to imply that he'd been intimate with someone's personal regions.
He was he only man I knew who could get by with calling women of colour, "Fair one" and ask the Head of the Sisters of Charity Nursing when they would be married. She always replied that she was waiting on the Pope to get back to her to see when he was free to perform the ceremony. (She was the head of the Charity Hospital in New Orleans, the MAJOR hospital and quite an impressive and capable woman.)
