The picture is very enticing Callaway.  When I said I didn't like being in mountains I meant those commercial cave attractions where you take a tour.  I keep thinking, "What if there's an earthquake?"

One of the reasons I quit work to go back to school and get my second Bachelor's degree was to be able to go to Innsbruck, Austria for Summer Term and just enjoy the mountains.  A real treat for a under sea-level girl from New Orleans.
Earthquakes, running from bulls, what if my chute doesn't open can all cause panic. Staying calm while running from the bull, opening chute etc is trhe answer.

What's the answer for the earthquake if you're inside a mountain?

Real spelunking is freaky but those guided tours are nice.

Have you read Blind Descent by Nevada Barr?  It's about a murder mystery set in a cave in a national park.

I have been on the guided tours and they are nice.

I think that real spelunking would be cool too, but maybe a little scary.

Simplification:

Sounds like "lazy eye" AKA  amblyopia.  It's when the brain uses one eye for seeing.  If the brain isn't forced to use the other eye the brain won't recognize or use the weak or lazy eye.  So they cover the good eye forcing the brain to see through the weaker one and preserving vision through both eyes.

Well it worked because I can see through both eyes. My left eye is still not that good though and my brain prefers my right eye. I have to wear prismatic lenses to bring the left eye in to align with the right eye.

And another thing that parts reminded me of, I knocked myself out falling backwards on concrete when I was about thirteen. The back of my head is still sensitive where I hit it.

Sorry to burst your bubble but he was a drunken bs'er. He actually spent WWII as a supply clerk scrounging nylons for Ike's Lee Remickesque Brit Secretary. I have no idea why people make up war stories.  :dunno:

When I was young I loved diving but in the seventh grade had a bad accident and did not get enough spring off the board while doing a back flip and landed on my head on the board then fell in the water and never went back to diving

Ouch. I have seen accidents on tv where people have done that.

Ouch! I remember seeing the news stories when Greg Louganis did that, it was almost painful to watch.

Surprisingly it didn't hurt that much at time but there was lots of blood and the next day it hurt

I only wear socks and shoes when I leave this place.. and as soon as I'm back home I'll 'off them' both. (or the four items in total that is)

The only time I take off my socks is to go to bed or take a shower.
