I have about 900 lbs of cast iron window weights they just seem too good to just scrap to me

Have you thought about blacksmithing?  It's a hobby I would love to get into if I had more time.

Window weights are cast iron and you cant work it on a forge but I have a lot of other metal for that.  One of my brothers used to do the blacksmithing demo on farm day at a local museum and I would go as his assistant.  I play around with blacksmithing and have made some small things like fireplace tools and decorative stuff like hooks and hangers,  i would like to do more but other things end up getting in the way.

Learning about blacksmithing already :)

Is it fun, or just hard work?

I don't like the smell of rubber. I was thinking this last Sunday as I was doing a 12km walk. At the water stations there were volunteers handing out cups of water and they were wearing rubber gloves. I commented to the person I was walking with that I could smell the gloves. She was like, "Huh?" and I said never mind.

I can't stand the smell of rubber bands either. Kayleigh chews on them!
The scent of rubber is very strong, especially when it is warm. Been a long time, that I smelled rubber gloves. The thin ones are almost all vinyl gloves now here. Too many allergy reactions on rubber apparently. My dentist has an allergy to them too.

A friend of mine does blacksmithing at a museum location. He started as a proper apprentice, just like the old days.

Weird how something that is so heavy and feels so solid is also brittle.

I broke some when I threw them down out the window after removing them.  They make a nice tone when tapped with a hammer I was thinking of building some heavy weight wind chimes

I think my left eye is the prettier one.  It has a couple of rays of sky-blue in it.  :autism:

Five years after breaking my left pinky, I still have a slightly runty nail on that finger.  :nerdy:
