I have an excellent sense of hearing but poor filtering capabilities. Little tiny noises can freak me out. My wife still has difficulty accepting that I will hear, and be bothered about, some noises when she won't even notice them.

My father has had some degree of hearing loss for decades, yet he would always
hear some tiny engine noise in the car that no one else could hear.  As for me, I often miss key words due to
hearing consonant sounds wrong, but if someone breaks a dish in another room at work, I can tell, from the
sound it made when breaking, whether it was glass or china.  :nerd!:

Not the same thing as others have described, but a barrage of spoken instructions or demands
makes me tense and angry, it is too much.  I also used to get angry around closing time at the burger place
where I washed dishes, because other workers would keep coming in putting things down for me to wash,
and every clang or bang or even soft sound of something being placed in my space cumulatively angered
me.  The individual sounds were not terribly loud, but I HAD TO register each one MENTALLY and THAT made
me angry.  I call it "too much incoming."  This is why I don't think I could drive safely in heavy traffic.
The mental stress of having to register each bit of visual information, not to mention the pressure of reacting
quickly and correctly to all of it, would probably make me increasingly angry, spazzy and panic-prone.   :GA:

I can hear if a 35mm projector is threaded and running properly. Some of my past apprentices in the booth found this a bit scary as I would tell them what they'd done wrong without being anywhere near the projector.

And once they'd passed their tests and worked as temps in the booth, I could phone them and tell them which projector was running. ;D

Among my other booth-related superpowers, I used to be able to take a single look at the film remaining on a reel and tell how many minutes and seconds that were left.

This superpower no longer works, as the prints vary more in quality and thickness.

The quieter my mum and stepdad tried to be while talking about me, the bigger the chance was that I would hear them.

Did you ever have any of those teeny tiny pennies? Used to have some of those as a kid but haven't seen one since then. Not even sure what they're called.

Maybe the 1700s penny is worth big money!  I have a Honduran centavo.  :orly:

I don't think I have anything that old, but I have coins from all countries that I've visited.

I always ask people to bring me back paper money and coins from places they go.  I have a three dollar bill from the Bahamas

I don't sort my laundry.  I wash light and dark colors all together, with few repercussions.

I'm guessing that you don't have a lot of bright colours. :P

Occasionally I include something red or black that slightly tints the white garments, but not usually.  :P
