There seems to be a lot of digging in the roads downtown for some reason lately

Mardi Gras parades roll in the rain, but will be cancelled if there are expected thunderstorms.  Saturday's parades are in a hold pattern for now.

The helicopters were out in force today and a lot lower than usual.  There was also an old UH-1 Huey flying around that was probably the national guard doing training

A commuter train just passed by. It was a lot slower than usual. I wonder if something was wrong.

I saw people driving a horse drawn wagon on the road by the beach on the way home

That fireman at my door today was pretty hot.

He knocked at my door to tell they were going to have a firebrigade drill at my adjacent neighbours, and not to worry if we happened to see smoke.

Building dust in old houses being renovated is supposedly far worse than the dust created when building new ones. That's what they say, at least. Can you confirm this, parts?

Older buildings depending on when they were built contain a lot of things no longer used due to the stricter environmental and heath regulations today such as lead paint and asbestos.  They might also contain mold from water leaks over the years.  I had to take a special one day class on how to deal with lead paint during renovations and all the rules that apply to it.  That is not to say the dust from new buildings going up is harmless there are still a lot of stuff in them you don't want to breath in like silica from the plaster

Lots of stuff I would prefer not to breath in at home, then. :-\

The only thing the New Orleans Saints are going to be winning for the next few years is the coin toss.
