Depends on the person IMO. Sometimes it can be justified as I see it.

Such as in the case of battered spouses etc. or those who are vulnerable and being taken advantage of, who cannot stand up and fight back for themselves.

Then getting..unhinged...is exactly what is called for, on the part of those who do love and care for whoever it who is being trodden on.

On the news today there was a  video of a black bear roaming around down by the beach less than a mile from my house near some condos :o
