Huge monster $$$ of a house that's been on the market since taxes went up sold just a little while back, added it to my route just in case.

...and they've been tossing stuff left and right.

Latest is a beautiful, thick, plush, heavy as f*ck, 12 x 9 rug with a leaf design in gold, tan, brown, and a steely blue. Gave it a once over light cleaning last night (it's like new).

Sounds awesome!  I love to watch auctions, foreclosures, estate sales, etc. Been a while since I went.

I saw some nice tube stuff a couple weeks ago at an estate sale but they knew it was good though not as good as they seemed to think.

Today I picked up a couple clamps and some flower pots at the condos that are having spring clean up

I found a 20p coin dropped on the pavement on the way walking back home from a trip to the shops to buy a large bag of various cold beverages and snacks. Of course I had just spent much more, but hey, its money turning up and me nearly tripping over my shoelaces to find it staring right there at me as I bent to tie them.

FINALLY!

I found my gassing taps! I've been looking for them everywhere. But, you know what its like hunting for something...if you find it, its always in the very last place you look :autism:

They aren't anything complicated. But they are extremely useful little items to have, for whenever one wishes to bubble a gas generated in a one flask into a liquid residing in another one, or pass gas (yeah, I've seen that one coming already) through solids or finely divided something or other. Its basically similar to a stopper, in length, only it has a hose barb on the side, like the type used for connections in vacuum rigs, and a larger hole at the top to plug it up or otherwise, say, fit a drying trap or some other contraption, an addition funnel or what have ye'.

The addition funnel goes on the top, the bottom of the tap goes into the flask full of one of the chemicals used to  prepare the gas, while the funnel dispenses the other one (or mixture of course if applicable) and the gas comes out of the side, through the hose barb connection and goes wherever the tubing and whatever might be stuck on/in/up it, goes, be it a flask, a beaker, or a roadkilled badger's rotting chocolate starfish :P Finally found the set of taps in a polystyrene hinged little box, where they'd been hidden under some graphite electrodes of various types.
Beyond the pale. Way, way beyond the pale.

Found a mercury dime at the old house.

I used to find marbles while planting flowers.
If they ever make a detector that can find marbles I'm in. I love finding marbles.

I've found marbles myself for some reason. As well as (somewhat battered and presumably originally painted) a little model plane made out of lead. Must be quite old, for a child's toy to have been cast in solid lead.

Found? well I haven't left the house other than to throw things in the outside bin today. But I did just find one of the little long-stemmed glass funnels (with the funnel about 3 inches across from edge to edge at the widest point), that I'll need for some  chemistry things I have to be doing later.

A Nintendo reboot from a couple of years ago. They finally got more out on the market, so I grabbed one when I saw it. Already had the SNES reboot from last Fall.

Not my find unfortunately, but had to share...this was posted elsewhere.

You're looking at a dumpster full of mid-century modern Herman Miller chair shells.

Around 127 of them...picked (with permission) and resold for a cool $10,000.

Worst part about this is I bet they were complete chairs and the clean out company scrapped the legs not knowing what the hell they had.
