I take vitamin D. Sometimes high cholesterol can run in the family.

I'm assuming this is me not taking care of myself.

Don't assume.
Once you are on those, docs usually want to work up blood tests every six months to keep up to date with your needs and the effectiveness of the dosage.
Alter your diet a bit and watch for your next bloodwork.
I took all mine a little early, but I felt a need after becoming quite hot outside.

I get the same results these days. Lots of cholesterol, but just a little too much of the bad kind. Doc says to eat more greens, certain grains and get more exercise.
:yikes:

I suck at diets.
Yeah, me too!
But I am not talking about trying to stick to some published diet, other than what your life experience and reading have taught you. More of this, less of that, try not to eat as much of "bad" as before.
Try to eat better and things either get better or no worse. Don't skip your bloodwork. I would add, "FIGHT!!" but most of that has left me in recent years. Maybe try anyway.
Even simple things can work, like I almost doubled the quantity of nuts I eat and my cholesterol went down. Nuts are often salted so you have to watch that, but you already know all this.

Small changes toward balance anyone can do.

Oh, and try to do enough of what the doctor says to make him want to pat himself on the back.

*checks pots*

Yes. Yes I did.

Is that a statin Odeon?

Yes. Sucks getting older.

 :agreed: Does a bit.

Statins are a mixed blessing - you might need to try a couple out. I was on simvastatin for some years and it gave me muscle pains, so I took myself off it - I agreed to let them put me on atorvastatin last year as they wanted to knock my cholesterol down a notch further as I'm diabetic, it was ok but they wanted it below 5. This has been better.

It takes me about 15 mins to fill my pill pots up for the week.  :zombiefuck:

There's an SSRI, three different diabetes meds, blood pressure, the statin, antihistamine, vitamin D. I don't always remember the asthma inhaler.  :tard:

I'm on atorvastatin, too. It's giving me muscle pain, though, I think.

That is the one I take and they started me on too high of a dose. I had nausea every time I took it.
I have so much nearly constant muscle pain, I am not sure I would have noticed a difference in that way.

Got it all sorted now and I do not even notice taking it.
The med my heart calls for when I am late taking it is to manage tachycardia.

Yeah, I've got some pain, too, so it's not easy to know what is what. My usual pain is in my joints, though.

Joints? Mine are intermittently unusable.

Mine too. The joys of having psoriatic arthritis.

I take metformin as well, twice a day. It's supposed to help me lose weight but I don't know if it has.

If I don't take my metformin with a meal and end up taking it on an empty stomach it makes me explode.  Anyone else get this?

I might get new meds for the arthritis. They drew some blood today to make sure that the meds won't make me sick.

The last ones I had caused headaches and photophobia, and the ones before that headaches and tinnitus. It'll be interesting to see what happens this time. Not.
