The coming week. I'm going to Prague for a conference, and I am addressing an audience live for the first time in 28 months.

You should know that I am always deathly nervous before a talk, to the point where I'm thinking that next year I'm not going to write a paper to begin with. For the last two years, however, I've been doing talks via Zoom, which is far worse since I don't even know if my audience is asleep or not.

It's taking its time, you wrote about it months ago in April.

I'm looking forward to seeing my family at the end of the month at a restaurant down south. My stepdad Peter will be 80 and my sister will be 51. I have Peter's present sorted but not my sister's. I'll have to ask Mum for some ideas.
