M-o-o-n that spells Moon.

Is that a famous lyric, or are you just being cryptic?   :orly:
"I'm finding a lot of things funny lately, but I don't think they are."
--- Ripley, Alien Resurrection

"We are grateful for the time we have been given."
--- Edward Walker, The Village

People forget.

Tom Cullen from the novel The Stand. The only time he matched the spelling to the right word was when had had to leave Las Vegas to avoid the nuclear bomb blast and save Stu. He was profoundly mentally retarded and chosen by God.

It's a good book and the movie does a fine job of staying true to the story.

Satan is always a good villain. Found The Stand, much like IT, to be no disappointment after the book like most movies based on books. The mini series factor might play a big part in that though, as it allows more time for details. Have read Steven King plays a big part in production and insists on maintaining integrity of his stories, but that didn't ring true in the case of Pet Cemetery. He was my favorite author as a child, though fell out of reading fiction in adulthood.

Insomnia is a very good book. After trudging through Delores Claiborne  :zombiefuck: :zombiefuck: :zombiefuck: :thumbdn: :thumbdn: :thumbdn: I avoided King books for about 10 years.

Agree, on both books, as well as the movies. Not sure why I even bothered to watch Delores Claiborne; total snooze fest, though true to original story. Even read some of his stuff he wrote under a pen name, though can't remember the titles at the moment.

I love it when the moon looks really enormous and close to the ground.  Why does it look that way sometimes?   :orly:

Because you visually compare it to things you see on the ground, so your brain realizes that it must be huge because it knows the size of things it compares to and it is much further away.

When the moon is high up in the sky, you have nothing to visually compare it to.  The sun looks huge when it rises and sets for the same reason.

I find it odd to see it on it's side, or in some countries even upside down. I know it's based on the orientation of the earth, but still.

But to slightly troll:

Yes, I like it too, though of course if I ever look up into the sky and see it for real I'll be all   :GA:
