I certainly taste the metals, but it does not give me a headache.  Bran is not very digestible for me, though. I burp for an hour or more after eating wheat bran, then, a couple of hours later, I usually begin to fart a lot.

I used to joke to this heavily freckled kid at school that he had been standing too close behind me after I had eaten bran.

Wheat generally doesn't agree with me; I get flare-ups of eczema if I eat more than a small amount of it, and the bran probably has a high concentration of something that I'm sensitive to.
