Grill or put them in when you roast your vegetables.  Does it make  you sick if you eat a whole bulb?  I eat too much of it with roast lamb.  I slit the skin with the tip of a steak knife and push slices of the garlic so the flavour goes through the meat.  Then I roast bulbs in the tray for the last half hour the meat is cooking, squeeze some of it out when I make the gravy and eat the rest with the meal. 

I eat so much of it then, I can give myself a tummy ache, but I love it like that.  (Well I love garlic anyway, I just seem to be able to gorge myself on the above very easily!)

Actually, I snip the "greens end" just enough to make an opening, place them rooots down and drizzle butter into them, skin on and keep them towards the back of a smoky grille, away from direct heat the whole time the meat cooks. Once they are slow cooked they have a unique character, very tender inside and the outer skin becomes crispy.  Delicious. I eat the entire bulb with a roast or chicken.
