Calling all classic rock whores

I'm a huge fan of classic rock. Just wondering who else can join me. ;)

I like everything from the 70's up to the big hair bands of the 80's.

What's your favourite song/band?

I don't really get into classic rock. More into the early/mid-nineties alternative/grunge stuff.

Which, I guess, could be considered classic rock now.

Given the fact that we're not that far off from 2010, you're probably right. ;)

Favourite bands?

Hmmm...

Alice in Chains, Soundgarden, Hum, Cake, Pearl Jam, etc.

Also like a lot of the newer rock like Chevelle, Seether, Revis, etc.

...and a lot of stuff inbetween. 80s and 90s gangster rap, Rat Pack, bagpipe music, 80s pop.

Music is my obsession. I listen to everything but death metal and punk. Everything else is on my list. 8) Right now I'm on a classic rock kick but it changes depending on my mood.

I'm obsessive about making playlists. I make them according to mood/experience. It's how I cope/think/chill/process. ;)

What program do you use?

How about live music? That's one of the things I love about Minneapolis. Lots of music fests and good bands to see. I saw Seven Mary Three and Spin Doctors a couple years ago, and Alice in Chains a couple years ago. Awesome shows.

I use iTunes. It keeps everything I buy in check along with everything that I don't download. ;)

I'm in the process of starting a blog to keep track of my playlists because I had a second generation iPod and the hard drive crashed so I lost my lists and given that it's my obsession I had a meltdown over it. :P

So I figure I need to organize it through an outside source. Of course, other people could probably not care less, but whatever. ;)

Love seeing bands live. It gives me a huge rush. Lately I've seen Cyndi Lauper, The Cliks, Indigo Girls, Finger Eleven (friends of mine), Elton John, Billy Joel, and a bunch of jazz bands. I've seen a lot of bands live. It's my favourite thing to do but I don't have anyone to go with here so I don't go as much as I want to.

I always wondered why they made their best album after he died.  Its cause for the first time, Angus and co actually put some effort in.  I love hearing the passion in the build up of Hells Bells.
"No one believes more firmly than Comrade Napoleon that all animals are equal. He would be only too happy to let you make your decisions for yourselves. But sometimes you might make the wrong decisions, comrades, and then where should we be?"

Fatality waits in the wings
Surrounded by fools behind walls that are breached
Beware of the jester that sings"

I had a typo. Love the 60's too. I'm trying to figure out why I thought I should start  a thread about this while I had my second glass of wine last night.

Why not punk?  :(  What about post-punk?
