AFL Grand Final
« on: September 22, 2009, 06:50:09 PM »
Question here;

Are any of you Aussies on here going to watch the AFL grand final on Saturday by any chance?

I have to admit I don’t follow the Aussie rules footy very much. In fact I’m not into sports very much, full stop.

However the ‘crew’ I am in at the moment, are going to met up at one of the ’members’ (the one who is a footy fanatic) places on Saturday afternoon for a party to watch the Grand Final.

As I'm in Townsville at the moment, I'll have to watch it on the box. Spewing Collingwood didn't get in, but they played like shit.

I think Geelong might get up.

I like that, going against the tide so to speak.

St Kilda has to win this year, just a feeling I have. It's the same feeling I had when Mackybe(sp) Diva won the Melbourne Cup the third time.
Existence actually has two broad meanings despite its apparent meaningless. The constant reconciliation of all its parts, and the conservation of any closed system as a whole.

Morality can be extrapolated from these meanings to make these two commandments of godless morality: 1). Be in harmony with one another and 2). Care for the environment.

Footy!
One of my favourite words. My parents will be staying at a hotel where they celebrate the grand final and watch it on a huge screen. I think they are going for Geelong although my mum likes St Kilda as well.
I will probably watch a bit of it at home like I did last year.

I'll probably check the score a few times, but my team isn't in the finals so yeah....

Would be nice for the saints to get a win, would be funny for the cats to lose another grand finals  (yes, I'm a hawks supporter)

My local team got beaten in their GF on Saturday. 3 bloody points.

Would've been their 19th premiership since 1960.

The game was a shocker. Umpiring, usual shit standard, but Geelong earned their win.

Something always seems to go shit for them. They either don't recruit the right players, don't play hard enough or get the wrong coach. Even the Cousins thing wasn't gonna bring them success. At least with Hawthorn, Kennett went after players and a coach that were likely to get them a flag. Buddy and Roughhead are 2 forwards who can deliver.

I think there is a fuckwit or 2 in the tigers management or board that are just fucking things up, because on the surface of things, there really isn't any reason they they are doing as bad as they do on a regular basis.

Whoever it is, or they are, they've been there a fuck of a long time. Last prelim final they made was 1995 or so, and the last GF was 1982.
