I've been driving my first and only car for 8 years now, a CH Mitsubishi Lancer. I'm well sick of it and I'm hoping to get something new sometime this year (most likely a larger sedan with a lot more grunt...seeing as I'm not restricted by P plates anymore).

Well they were also badged as a Mitsubishi...something. They weren't available here however. Doesn't appear to be any grey imports here either AFAIK.

Yes, it was also badged as the Mitsubishi Eclipse. Paul Walker drove one in the first Fast and the Furious.

1987 VW Polo
1995 Rover 214 SLI
1995 Nissan Sunny
1997 Rover 420 SD
1998 Vauxhall Astra estate
2002 Ford Mondeo
2003 Nissan Almera Tino
1996 Toyota Corolla
2002 Skoda Octavia estate

13 cars in 21 years then... I mostly buy the least crap car I think I can wring 2 years out of, other than the brand new Yaris I bought on finance in a fit of optimism. Some manage more, some less. The Metro, Polo and Corolla were short term 'I need a car NOW and I will put up with fucking anything' disposable cars acquired after a sudden demise. I like the Skoda fine so far but the Mk III Mondeo was my favourite - bags of room, huge boot, rock solid on snow and little back roads, went like hell on trunk roads. Even the air con worked. Developed a terminal oil leak and needed expensive suspension repairs at just the wrong time so it had to go. :(
