You can get a € 10,000 fine or five years in jail for possessing an illegal firework device there. Wtf is wrong with that country?  :thumbdn:

The law is rarely enforced, lit.

The blasphemy law, now that's a disgrace. I'm normally not the political type, but the possibility of being arrested for fucking off someone's religion is ridiculous.

Unless you live there and have to deal with laws you don't like there is no point in worrying about such things Lit. If I was into fireworks big time then I could probably find better places to visit than Ireland. Likewise if I wanted to smoke pot/hash in other countries then I would probably pick Netherlands or Canada over Singapore or Turkey.

But it's a fucking disgrace that such a law is allowed in a Western country. In comparison: the punishment for an illegal gun in Russia is four years. So Ireland has a law that punishes people harder for possessing a homemade firecracker than Russia has for possessing a gun. Shame on Ireland.
