I kind of had a "moment" and was standing in the middle of the kitchen, just thinking

my friend came in, looked at me and asked me what I was doing. I told him I was just standing there.

he said" just....standing.... there... eh. a bit creepy, no ? "

And he game me a weird look and I got embarassed  :-[

I do space out a lot, just usually dont stand in the kitchen and stare at the walls for 5 minutes at a time.

Ive been having a lot of  :asthing: moments lately  :facepalm2:

There's nothing creepy about that, I do the same thing sometimes.
Sometimes you just need to stare off into the distance and think and enjoy solitude.  8)

yes, thank you ! I agree

I like need to recharge sometimes. Alone.  I like to stand in my kitchen in silence :) Helps me think

you know the more and more I learn about it, and realize the things about myself, the more positive I do have AS.

Maybe I should go stand in the kitchen and think about it some more ....

I sometimes stand alone in the big walk-in refrigerator at work. Or I stand in my kitchen, swaying from one foot to the other.
Or I rock to music, or I pace around or just sit quietly looking at nothing in particular. All these actions help me think.

I also pace...

I have patterns I get into , but there is nothing OCD about it, not like I HAVE to do things. But I have rituals, I pace, I repeat certain things, I stand in silence, and lots of times I just get lost in my own head. And I sometimes see things as pictures and paterns instread of words as thoughts.

And sometimes numbers like, bother me, if they are in strange patters.

I dont usually talk about this stuff but hell you're all aspies here you know what I'm talking about

When I was a kid it was worse, I would just retreat into my head and would only come out when people talked to me.

It's like Ive learned the social obligations part, but I still cant read people well....unless they are seriously flirting with me, only then can I take a hint.

^Used to see moving fractals behind my eyelids while falling asleep when young. First time seeing a video of one as an adult was creepy because of that.

i pace a lot too,   and doodle.   i can doodle for hours.  If no pen is handy and i am in the kitchen i use a blade to 'etch' patterns onto things, work surfaces etc.

Good start.  Started slowly.  Just take one day at a time.

Awww, that's no good, you've got to forgive yourself. Come on, hug it out!
