Wow.  You can watch broadcast over the air TV free here, if you have an antenna.

We can even see BBC on the Public TV channel, which is free at 6:30 PM weekdays.

If you choose to pay for cable or satellite TV, then you can get up to hundreds of channels, depending on what you want to pay for.

The TV license thing is pretty controversial over there, as I understand. BBC should take a hint from PBS and just nag for donations instead; it's less facist-seeming.

The idea of the BBC was to create a TV company that can do lots of special stuff a commercial organisation cannot. I wouldnt object to the license fee if they did that more, but they are making so many crap shows in order to chase ratings that we get very little for our fee.

i hate that they have no commercials, i mean how can i pee when i'm watching Heroes? just a tiny pee break would be in order.
