If I was going to blow up something for fun, I don't think my first choice would be anything with sharp blades in it that would create extremely lethal shrapnel.

Wouldn't it be more fun to make a potato cannon or something?

... or better yet!  How about a hidden, remote controlled trebuchet to launch eggs into traffic while you stand on the corner pointing a video camera and shrugging your shoulders.

My son hit a can of starter fluid(ether) with the lawn mower once it didn't hurt the lawnmower but sure was loud
