  I don't want to have a baby and bring it up, but I read years ago about some sort of cloning technology
  that might become available in the future, and I might be interested in making a copy of myself
  to carry on my family name.  Imagine raising myself.  That might help me over some of my issues.  :tard:

I think half the problem is that people want an heir, they want someone to carry on their values, they want someone to look after them when they are old, they want someone to mould into some idealised version of themselves.
