Aye, but if no agreed upon ruleset is decided nothing really ever gets argued through to completion, neh?

Depends how many people want to argue it to completion.
Well more importantly without an agreed upon ruleset people can just say they lost interest, or had better things to do, etc etc; without room for a clear winner;  When community agrees upon a ruleset, the proof is in the pudding, and the one who wins is the one who wins.  The yardstick may not be perfect but at least there is a yardstick

Why not just make up your own yardstick? And pull people back if they run away too soon. Why does it matter who wins by the rules? The real winner wins by effect.
You'll never self-actualize the subconscious canopy of stardust with that attitude.

well, there are motes in the eye and there are planks in the eye.
if you don't pull the plank out of the fire then all that's left will be smoke and mirrors.

why did you ask me to explain if you understood?

Quite frankly I'm convinced you just made that shit up to fit into my explanation but whatever...

Why not just make up your own yardstick?
If you're content to just live inside your own head (and most of us are really, but thats a mistake) then yeah just using your own will work.  In terms of building power, social momentum, respect, this doesn't hold water.

that is a good point.
since sometimes just making a point is all that is necessary.
people are conditioned to think a certain way.  sometimes the point is to simply plant a seed.
Misunderstood.

argh.
the motes were on another planet
so is the plank
blockheads undergoing a paradigm shift often smell wood burning.
if the fire on the other planet were fanned, then the plank will burn and the fact that it is all smoke and mirrors will become evident.
