For all the "weird" local food I eat the idea of beans on toast just doesn't appeal to me. Maybe it's because I think it's either pork and beans or baked beans (both to bland for me) and the blandness of bread. Other "no go's" are butter and lima beans and snails. Vegemite is still in the jar. I'll try it when I locate it.
Note: what I will eat is (in no particular order)
raw oysters
crawfish
sushi
venison
brussels sprouts
limburger and other "smelly' cheeses
alligator sausage
blood sausage
beef and pork fatty meats
grits
okra
cabbage.................
