I rounded out my trip by seeing the Sacre Couer, Notre Dame and the Arch de Triomph. I also went to the Grand Arch, which is big but ugly, and ended up at the wrong part of the station. Since my weekly pass was not working I did a modified turnstile jump and got on a train that ended up taking me way the fuck to the crappy South end of town where I had to wait until the train going back took me back where I started. To be safe in case my weekly pass was too far out I did another turnstile jump and managed to get back to where I knew the pass was good.

It sounds like you are having lots of fun, PPK.  Is your French causing you any problems?

I went around one turnstile in New York City for the subway.  My husband, our daughter, and I had just bought one week subway passes and mine didn't work correctly for me, while my husband and daughter had already made it through the turnstile and were on the other side, so someone told my husband to open the exit door for me and I went through that.

No because where my French fails the people here have been very helpful. I leave for home tomorrow and I will continue learning French so when I come back, go to Quebec or Belgium I can do better. I am ready to go home but I am happy I came here Callaway. Jumping turnstiles is not my default setting either but sometimes such things are required.

This actually happened yesterday but I was offline so couldn't post about it...

Yesterday was my last evening of washing dishes at the burger place, and I got flowers and cake and appreciation.  :)
