Brought our old printer back from the dead for the kids to use.

Now, that's the true Easter Spirit.

The printer will be completely unusable in around 40 days but still promises eternal ink?

Oh it so has the eternal ink cartridge. I've used refills in that thing for many years now and the print head in it hasn't died yet. They are easy enough to resurrect with hot water to flush out any old dried ink.

So, how long do you soak the printer cartridge in hot water and is it just hot tap water you use or boiling hot water?

I am wondering if it would work for my used HP printer cartridges.

I used a baby wipe (the new kind) and soaked it in hot tap water and pressed the print head into that a number of times to warm it up a lot. After that I just ran the print head only part of the ink cartridge under the hot tap. Then I dried it. Print a few test pages to work the new ink back into it and you should be fine. If not, you haven't lost anything assuming the ink cartridge is already not working properly.

I can't take all the credit, Scrap found a really good picture to start from. Very clean with a nice white background.

Something changed.

Feeling better than I have done all week.
And when I made tea this night, I did not have to heat the water three or four times. I didn't forget to make the tea, nor to poor myself a cup. I'm just brilliant this evening.  :hadron:

Do you have any idea what changed, exactly, and how to sustain the improvement?  :)

Being pissed off for a couple of days till I knew the dynamics of what was pissing me off very clearly did help I think. This woman is going to be a tougher cookie to crack.

Thanks.  I did that and injected ink into my used HP cartridge and it works fine.

I love to deconstruct my bad moods! Once I figure out exactly what's bothering me, I can figure out how to feel better.

Well done! I hate the new ink cartridges that have a chip in them and have an electronic expiration date.  :thumbdn:
