I'm getting worried. These are contract to
hire positions, so maybe they take you
in, and just treat the first couple weeks
as an extended interview.

Dunno, are you the type to often leave within the first week or two of a new job if you don't like it? All my CG projects have been contract to hire and I haven't had any trouble with it, but I know how to make myself useful to people once I get my foot in the door.

I saved the life water beverage from a couple of months ago, I think I will give back to my mom.

If had some money, I would use my vegetable juicer to juice some fresh pinneapple juice for my dad's girlfriend.  Pinneapple juice reduces inflammation, and loosens up phlemn.

Well, IF so, the form wouldn't matter. But, I'm more worried about
how I'll come across, then anything else. I'm not very normal.

but that's about the limit of my discretion.

LOL. I was trying to tease out whether you'd had problems early on in previous jobs. As in, is there a real cause for concern.

Not early on. I'm much more worried about staying power.
I could fall in love with shoveling shit, at first.

I did that at work last week.
I was surprised how easy it went on those antique IBM micro-box workstations with fins on the outside. I pulled out a blurry seventeen inch round tube monitor and sub'ed in a twenty two inch Gateway LCD, without a single hiccup. These things run Windows XP and all our proprietary software is some Adobe vector concoction, loaded with errors. We also have a "window" that gets us to the UNIX server for more live info-heavy and detailed cross-search work. These poor little things have their hands full booting up, but it went fine.

The first thing I fell in love with using the new monitor is that the perceived distance to the text has moved back from about fifteen inches to around three feet away. Even though I am generally less than twenty inches from the monitor it "LOOKS" like the text is three feet away! I love it!

Not really just today, but overnight, I finished transferring all my ripped music to my newest hard drives. The 750GB I got at a super deal a couple of weeks ago, the two 320GB drives I bought in the falll and one more 160GB which I have had for a while, are full of nothing but music. Back-ups are spread across a huge number of 40, 60, 80, and 120GB drives, though.
Of course, I also have my original CDs, reel to reel tapes, LPs and library card (SHSHSH!) in case of major failure.

Much easier to access four drives than what seemed like "forty four."

I got a free repair done on my Minolta Dimage 7i, since it had a defect and there was a recall on it.  I've hardly had any use from it before, since when I first got it, my NiCd rechargeable batteries couldn't even boot it up with a full charge and I only had the 16MB flash card it came with which allowed one picture on the highest setting and 16 pics on an intermediate setting, and then the CCD stopped working once I had the right gear for it.  Mum had rescued it from her work, where it was due to be crushed.  Yes, public funds really were used to buy an expensive camera, stick it in a cupboard for a few years and then (nearly) crush it.  Where my mum worked, any item of electronics more than three years old was deemed garbage.

Also, I feel much better today.

Yeah, the picture resolution on the new monitor is a vast improvement over the old monitor.  Plus it's far less bulky and gives the computer desk space a roomier feel.  The old monitor is off to the recycling area soon.   :green:  It's 8 years old and somethings wonky with the cathode ray tube as it keeps "blipping" and sometimes just blacks out completely.

Installed digital sound at the theatre (DTS; we already had Dolby Digital) and was amazed by how good my test reel of "Titanic" sounds.  :toporly:
