Still using .243 for squirrels at three hundred meters?   :laugh:

I have, but it has been more about quantity than quality. I have a new  "friend"  with a zillion acres and we can shoot in his back yard. I have been practicing with my long barrel Redhawk, and my four inch Model 29 again.
I have been loading semiwadcutters in massive quantities to regain my prowess with the sixshooter.  Basically, FUN!



Loading can be done in freezing weather, but gluing up wood for sound things is next to impossible and frustrating.

Been doing some. Yes, I still use the .243, my best shot with it was almost 600 yards!!

I've also got a .22 Hornet which is good to about 250 yards. It's a lot quieter than the .243, which I've got loaded shooting 87gr Hornady V-max's @ 3300 fps.

Do you cast your own bullets?? I cast my own with a mix of 75% wheel weight and 25% Linotype.

Lee makes a good casting furnace for about $70.

I do not cast my own, these days. I used to and I still have all the equipment, but these days I seek out quality sources of ready-made ...

I probably could, I mean, I know how the important controls work, but never have.

I don't have enough money these days for a Private Pilots Liscense. It's about $10,000 for a basic PPL, and more if you want to add more certifications to it.
