Thanks guys. I rented a cottage in the middle of nowhere, just me and the kids. Massive blizzard hit and there was over 4 ft of snow, not even counting what had drifted. Drifts were over 5 ft high. Couldn't let the kids go out to play because I'd lose a child  The only source of heat was an old wooden stove. Felt very much like Laura Ingalls.  We were snowed in for days until I was able to dig our way out to the street when the road was finally cleared.  :viking:

Laura Ingalls was  :viking:

They had  :viking:  meals back then too, I remember that from the books! They worked hard in the fields and feasted afterward!
Of course, at times they went hungry because of bad weather and crop failures and whatnot, but they ate well when they could!

We had the complete set of books at home when I was a child. Our pioneer ancestors had great courage.

If the intro page to this place ever gets redone, something like the inscription on the Statue of Liberty would be fitting. Shame I didn't think of it at the appropriate time for that thread.

Um? ???

I don't know the inscription (he admits in shame).
