We've also had support from the Green Party (political party in the uk  - environmental stuff mainly), but the reasoning behind it for most people isn't really to do with the environment, more the health impact. We already have a lot of pollution in this area and the company planning to build it weren't popular here to begin with, because of their history with other projects here

Mostly yeah. People are primarily concerned about their immediate family, but the group running the protests (which my mum is a member of) are against them in general. If we succeed in preventing this one, then they won't just give up there. Quite a lot of people feel very strongly about it now after a few months - whether in our town or anywhere else

While that is true, Some back yards are worth saving.

It is NOT all about the holy dollar or the pound.

If I could find a way to shut down a boat factory in my back yard, I surely would. That damn thing stinks to high HELL!

Possibly with help from the Green party you can make a change.

If I had it my way, you would lose the protest and they would build the incinerator in YOUR backyard. :orly:
