 The barrel fire looks cool. When I was a kid my uncle Bob (by marriage, kind of an asshole) was a Park Ranger and when he was at Sunset Beach my cousins and siblings and I would go collect driftwood and have huge bonfires at the beach at night. There were sandy cliffs nearby, maybe 70 foot away, and on top of those cliffs were Brussel Sprout fields so it was very safe and a whle lot of fun.

Safety with the fire here isn't as big as a concern here as where you are and it's been raining for weeks.  The only rules we have is it must be contained and only wood Supposed to be under 3 feet in any direction too but fuck them if they can't take a joke

If we could even out the water supply east and west of the Rockies everybody would have what they need. Right now there isn't enough water in the Colorado River to supply all the written compacts about it. How far are you from the beach Parts? I could get to a good one in 40 minutes on a good driving day and a really good (Seacliff @ Aptos) one in two hours. I haven't been to a beach in about 7 months. We have Harbor Seals in the greater SF Bay and they are outstanding animals.

Had a bit of fun with some nail polish/varnish and some glow-in-the-dark stickers.

We got water and lots of it. As far as he beach goes less than a mile from it but it's about a mile walk going around the marsh which starts at the end of my street.  We get seals but when we do it makes the papers like the dolphins that are in Long Island Sound now that were on the NYC news

I like the loud exhale noise seals make when they surface, partly because it helps me track them from the Pier @ Benicia. There is usually only one seal ther and they stay down so long and come up pretty far from wher they went down. Here is a youtube of California Harbor Seals, they don't mass up like this in the SF Bay, they hang out alone where I see them.
