Why would you have to do either?
Not enough food for all 3 of you. Who are you gonna kill?

Not really relevant, Hadron.

The point is that cal claims that cutting is a better coping method than some others.  i.e. if the choice is only between the 2.

GA counters with killing dogs vs killing men but then asks why one must be chosen.  If the analogy is to be comparable, then one must.  It was a poor analogy, really.  The point he's trying to make (I hope) is that there are other/better choices than just those two.  And that the "right" answer is to pick neither.

So, what do you suggest?

Frankly, I see little harm/danger to the
kind of cutting that Ahayes is doing,
as long as he is safe about it. Sterilize
blade, and keeping the injuries clean.

Some people go overboard though.
We had some woman post a vid of
her cutting which was really disturbing
to me.

I had a friend who was hospitalized, fot
doing so (her first time and she was
drunk).

Depends on Ahayes' mental state. He might actually worse off by choosing neither, which is the point me and Cal are trying to make. What do you suggest as option 3, he goes and sees a therapist?

cry. put on heavy eye make up and cry. keep the hood over your eyes and let the make up streak your cheeks. then take a picture. = major artsy :P

Can't do that but I have something.

Instead of 'pick neither', I should have said 'pick neither and instead find something else'.  I would completely agree that a choice between bad and worse has an obvious solution.  Further, everyone has and needs a coping method.  We have a whole thread here on how people handle stress.  I do not think cutting is the ideal solution, but that is purely my opinion.

What do I suggest?  Honestly, I do not know him well enough to make any kind of educated suggestion.  Due to that, any advice I might give would be limited to bland generalities that I'm sure everyone here has heard thousands of times before as we each have sought our own coping methods.  They could even make things worse.  So I will refrain from that.  If something occurs to me, and I think it would be useful to present, I will suggest it.

cute scars. i miss cutting. :(

he's not trying to kill himself you idiot. you do it that way when you cut for the sake of cutting. if you wanna kill yourself you should go for the throat. i don't see a point in cutting the wrists.

i totally agree cutting can be a better way of coping. i mean it's better than destroying your liver or eating and getting fat. or puking and getting a heart attack. if i could replace my other crap with cutting i would do it. but cutting to me is not really about coping, it used to but now i would probably do it just cuz i love the experience and the smell of blood.

i cut deeper when i'm drunk. i also did it on Valium. it's easier to carve nicely. so you see the flesh. it's delicious. :green:

It was on youtube, and got taken down.
But whomever 'twas, posted it here, for
our pleasure. Pretty disturbing. All tied up

I haven't seen the movie.
Just clips, and it was pretty
violent looking.

Might enjoy.

As to the clip here, I KNEW that
it would get to me, but I had to
open it (I'm afraid of blood - sort of).
She had opened some pretty big cuts
on her chest and was bleeding heavily.
Enough that I can't imagine that she
didn't need hospitalization.

All to the sound of Gregorian Chants,
IIRC.
