Cisco will try to force everyone into their proprietary technology so they can put more of a stranglehold on their segment of the business.   They already own Linksys and most of the Vonage shit uses Linksys from what I remember.    It is like how they are with their EIGRP (sucks) versus the superior (imo) OSPF that is not proprietary.   VoIP is interesting as long as the codec being used is bandwidth efficient and still sounds good.   All the phones that were in the building I was taking classes at were Cisco IP phones.

What kind of encryption did that use Cal?   Open source is nice, but most things that are open are losing to closed source crap that has proprietary bullshit that screws the consumer.   Cisco and MS are masters of this obviously.

It's a pain, because the business model for open source
is that for bottom feeders. We were getting specific
requests, and had to hand code stuff that the big
boys gave tools for. Sure, we saved a bit of money,
but our stuff was kinda crap too.

I just stood on them and had my friend take a picture of me on it. Then later in the day, I decided to have him take a picture of me lying down on it but unfortunitly, he took the picture as I was moving my leg so it looks like I am holding it in the air.
